Why Oz Harvest?

Firstly, why not?! But with all the charities in all the world, why did I choose this one?

I first became aware of Oz Harvest four years ago when i was prospecting in to them to pick up a finance job i’d seen online. I was new to Australia, new to recruitment and new to cold calling so i didn’t realise at that time that what I was doing was, let’s just say, a bit ridiculous. I was talking to their Financial Controller on the phone and trying to sell him his ideal candidate...He made me aware they were a charity and that they just did not have the budget to hire a recruiter to fill the role but if I wanted to learn a little more about what they did, I could come out for a visit. At that time having a hefty “meeting KPI” above my head, i bit his hand off.

That visit was the most rewarding and humbling visit I have ever been on. Oz Harvest allows people to donate their time, food and money and to do so with an immediate impact and results. 

That’s what I love so much about them.
