Why I'm organising OzSizzle
From the day I joined OzHarvest in Adelaide as a volunteer I have enjoyed coming to the annual volunteer, staff & family picnic and BBQ, that always takes place sometime around the birthday of OzHarvest SA. It's so much fun to see what food everybody has cooked up or created to share with other members of the Yellow Family, while others cook up some snags on the real Aussie barbie. It's lovely to catch up with volunteers that have been around for years, or that just joined in, all supporting the same cause of aiming to create a world where no one has to go hungry and food is not ending up in landfill.
In my role as Event & Volunteer Coordinator I am pleased to now be the one organising this small annual event, that is aimed to celebrate our milestons, the impact we create as a Yellow Family of OzHarvest supporters and to thank our Army of OzHarvest volunteers in Adelaide. We will celebrate our 7th birthday and of course we will also play the annual OzHarvest Food Quiz!
While feasting away, we would like to make a difference to Australia’s most vulnerable and reduce food waste, to be able to reach new heights at OzHarvest SA! We'd love your support in helping us reach our fundraising goal, so people that are struggling to make ends meet will also have food on their plates this summer.
